I find the constant rephrasing of simplistic concepts to be grating and annoying. I get apposition and lists of synonyms for abstract or unusual topics, but here she is listing 3-5 ways to say exactly the same thing, and the 1st way she said it was perfectly acceptable and commonly understood. All it does in my opinion is delay the action of the sentence, so it stalls the plot
