Really enjoying the short story format! I'm bummed I missed this in the reading order, but after finishing the first law series, it's like nice bonus material of snapshot prequels. Love returning to familiar faces, even if I know how their story ends. I will say I'm enjoying Shev and Javre's story the least (feels like it doesn't fit his magic worldbuilding and also boo, rainbow content), but it's still fun.
