I get that this book in a way is written to contrast the Bennet family's privileged lives and positions with that of the servant class and how their status changes their outlook, but it isn't just that is it?

Yes there is a romance floating about but given its stilted nature, so far hardly stands as a valid diversion.

There's something enjoyable about being able to follow the events of Pride and Prejudice while exploring the story from a different perspective, this one the servants.

Although I can't say I much like our main character Sarah so far. But perhaps she will mature the further into the novel we go and she will grow on me.

This has been on my hit list on my Kindle for so long but just kept getting pushed back. Finally, a Goodreads challenge became the impedus I needed to actually start reading this.

It's apparently a slow burn. Hopefully not too much of one or there will be problems.
