'THE HAIR...THE HAIR. What did it mean? It was a surprise, a shock. You couldn't see them on the radio'.
Bruce's [Springsteen] immediate reaction was to have his hair styled like the Beatles. (...) when his father saw what he had done, 'his first response was laughter. It was funny. Then, not so funny. Then, he got angry. Then, finally, he popped his burning question: "Bruce, are you queer?"'

In November 1963, two hundred women working at a cotton mill in Accrington went on strike after their foreman banned them from listening to the radio programme Housewives' Choice: he was sick of the way they would start to scream the moment a Beatles song came on.

There is a scene in Help!(.)filmed in the Bahamas(.)Meanwhile, the area was surrounded by nets to keep sharks at bay. Victor Spinetti watched as Ringo kept leaping overboard for take after take, only to be picked up and hoisted back onto the yacht, shivering.

'Oh V-vi-vic', he said (.), 'd-d-do I have to do this a-g-gain?'
'Why?' I asked him. His answer stunned me.
'I c-c-can't swim.'

Dear Beatles,
I told my Mother that I can't imagine a world without the Beatles, and she said she could easily.
Loyal forever,
Lillie K.

Dear Beatles,
Please call me on the Telephone. My # is 629-7834
If my mother answers, hang up. She is not much of a Beatle fan.
With love from,
Maxine

Love,
Donna J.

Throughout the Beatles' tour of the UK, reporters struggled to describe the sound of thousands of adolescents screaming at the top of their voices. 'I have not attended the mass torture or execution of 5000 assorted farmyard animals', wrote the Newcastle Journals reporter Rodney Pybus. 'But I imagine the noise they would make would be very similar to that which forced my fingertips deep into my ears'.

There are over a thousand Beatles tribute acts in the world today. Many of them — the Tefeatles from Guatemala, Rubber Soul from Brazil, the Nowhere Boys from Colombia, Abbey Road from Spain — have now been together longer than the Beatles themselves: Britain's Bootleg Beatles and Australia's Beatnix have both been going for forty years.

Unsurprisingly, it is John who pops the poppermost, and to the greatest effect, yelling obscenities, rolling around on the stage, throwing food at other band members, pretending to be a hunchback, jumping on Paul's back, hurling himself into the audience, delighting in calling them 'fucking Krauts' or 'Nazis' or 'German spassies.
Diplomacy has never come naturally to him.

turns out that Bob Dylan is an enthusiast for visiting sites associated with rock stars.(.)he visited Mendips [casa de John Lennon],as well as Sun Studios in Memphis, where he took the trouble to kneel down and kiss the spot where Elvis Presley first sang "That's All Right. Apparently, as Dylan left the studios, a man chased after him and told him how much he loved him. 'Well, son, we all have our heroes, he replied.

Ringo was the Beatle for girls who lacked ambition. Picking him as your favourite suggested a touch of realism. It went without saying that the others were already taken, but you might just stand an outside chance with the drummer.
