About halfway: this book is so hard to process. Seeing how normalized the abuse was, how fear replaced safety, and control was mistaken for love - that is just so heartbreaking.
Especially painful to realize how that shaped what she later accepted as “better" relationships - those chapters about her at 18 and Joe at 32... Gosh, just painful to go over those chapters...
Parents like that should not have kids...

I know Jennette as Sam in the show my daughter watched. And now, listening to her journey, it would be hard to ever re-watch those series...
P.s.
so upsetting I will have to pause for now and wait, before my listening hours are available on Spotify again. 15 hours for books a month is nothing 🙈
