Dakota- I looked bad. Randal looked bad. It was just altogether bad. To say that my wedding day wasn’t all that I hoped for would be a huge understatement.
“Maybe it was a sign,” Everly murmurs, and all eyes turn to the young girl who just said the quiet part out loud. “I only met Randal a few times because you never brought him around that much. Maybe the universe did that for a reason.”

Randal and I have been separated for over a year….He ruined a lot of things for me when it comes to my relationship with men. Things that I am desperately trying to unpack now so I can start living my life again.
Watching all these couples today makes me realize I’m ready to put myself out there again. I still believe in love and happily-ever-afters. I just made a huge mistake on my first shot at it.

I will not be this scorned woman who only talks about her divorce like my mother was most of my life. I will get back to my former happy-go-lucky, confident self. I’ll turn my lemons into margaritas, dammit!

What am I doing? The last thing I need rolling through my brain are visuals for what Calder would have looked like on his knees—oh my God, I’m disgusting!
Stop thinking about Calder and sex, Dakota! He’s gross, and you’re gross for letting your mind wander like this! It’s only going to make the vibe between us even more irritating.

The annoying man in question had to come back to the room earlier to change into his swim trunks. I tried to look busy when he walked out of the bathroom shirtless with all his muscles and ink on full display, but I have to admit to sneaking a peak when he was digging in his bag for some sunscreen.
