This is really good so far. I love how it mentions how harsh an environment that AK has. I'm currently in school for parent/teacher conferences and there's a snowstorm. The snow drift outside my classroom window is currently over the bottom of the window. The snow is very pretty, but I know my walk home is going to be awful tonight.

Kind of cool to listen to a book that takes place where I'm living. I'm listening to the audio book, and one of the other girls I'm student teaching with is reading the paperback. Definitely not a happy story, but the beginning takes place on a drive from Fairbanks to Denali, where I'm halfway between.
