Why does this book read like the author has never met a woman in his life?

It is winter break from school, and I am really enjoying reading all the holiday books I can. I started this during intermission of the hockey game (Sabres won!) and I'm just really happy to be reading for fun, and not feeling like I have more important things to do. I start school back up soon, so I am enjoying it while I can.

A Thanksgiving hockey game? This has got to be a parallel universe, because in the pro sports world, it is well known that pro hockey takes USA Thanksgiving and Christmas off. Canadian Thanksgiving is usually the beginning of the season, so it may or may not be played depending on schedules. That took me out very quick though.

Continuity question: are his jeans in the dryer, or did he get them back and then remove them?
Also, please someone get this author and her editor a thesaurus. I am begging.

I am loving the sound design of this audiobook, there are ambient sounds or music surrounding chapter breaks, which I'm really liking.

Well, assignments are completed and I drank too much caffeine. It's 03:30 and I am still wide awake. Time to finish this. Maybe I'll tackle my hardcover too.

I am really looking forward to finishing this as soon as my final assignments are completed for the semester. It's cute, and I wish that I could have started this at a time when I wasn't in school and could have just read the book straight through.

Of course I'd start a book with "summer" in the title, only for it to start snowing the next day 😅 the snow is sticking and I have now brushed off my car 3 times.

Not me having to google if a frappe can be hot...it cannot. First thing I've seen not good in this, though.

As a bookish, awkward, asexual woman, I never really related to a lot of romance heroines, but I really relate to Hazel in this. I am so confused by the cover though. This book takes place in summer, why are the tree leaves YELLOW?? I am enjoying this so far though, even though I picked it up for cozy fall vibes XD

This is reminding me of The Island of Sea Women, I'm hoping this doesn't devastate me like that one did, but I'm prepared if it does.

This is a really cute novella. I didn't realize it was a companion story when I checked it out from the library, but it's a great palate cleanser after Sister Butcher Sister.

I do not understand how Jean has stuck around as Patch's friend for so long. This book is fun, but Patch is just such a teenage boy.

Idk which sister is the murderer, but Aurora has a strong case. If I was seeing someone and their pet name for me was "my succulent mollusk", I too may become a serial killer.

I set this down in January and had to restart it, because I honestly forgot what was going on. I am enjoying it, and I'm currently further in than I got in January.

How am I this far in?? I am loving this so far!

I'm really liking this so far. I also really like the footnotes. The latest notable one was about the former location of Increase Mather's house now being the location of a 7-11.

I don't normally get the pleasure of reading about somewhere I've been. I only spent a day on Jeju with my friend the last time we went to Korea. It was April 3rd, 2 years ago. I know that this book will include the Jeju uprising, based on a question asked in the prologue. I had never heard of that until my friend and I stumbled on a museum dedicated to the April 3rd uprising. This book is definitely bringing me back

So far, not bad, but I did need to reread the first 2 chapters because I could not keep the characters straight.
