Parker might be wrong about Noah's motives but he's hit the nail on the head:

"You know how men are. They think they're being noble when half the time they're just being stupid."

Hopefully Mackenzie can can sober up enough to figure out what's really going on before it's too late. Though, even if she does, I wouldn't blame her if she was still mad at him for not just talking to her about it.

Of course you had another choice! There's ALWAYS another choice! He should have trusted her enough to figure things out together!

I know he won't, but it's HER career on the line. He should at least tell her the truth & they can come up with a plan together, or just pretend to break up. I know he thinks he's being noble, but not giving her a choice in the matter is wrong, as is breaking her heart. The trope of hurting someone to protect them is one I REALLY HATE!

I didn't think I could hate slimy Dennis anymore than I already did

It's not like Dennis has any real proof. It's his word against theirs & it's not like he doesn't have something to gain by lying. I think Noah should just play dumb, but instead he'll likely try to protect Mackenzie by agreeing to take the new job, which will just hurt her more.

The whole inner angst because both people refuse to be the first one to tell the other how they feel, is so frustrating. You're both adults, just talk to each other & avoid the emotional turmoil!

There are way too many sex scenes for my liking

Since she could loose her job for lying, maybe they SHOULDN'T be talking about it in the hospital where anyone could overhear!

While I can't say I'm loving this, it is getting better. I don't know why I'm picking random books to read when I already have a very long list of books I've been meaning to read.
