Now we are finally getting somewhere.
I don't remember this book being so bland before. It's got the classic Victoria Holt writing, but it's also really tame.

This one is definitely one of Holt's slower works. There's an atmosphere of unease, but nothing is really happening.
I think I'll end up putting The Curse of the Kings in the donate pile. It's just not one of my favorite Holt books and I haven't revisited it in years.
