Finished first book in trilogy: exchanging places which I had no recollection of, having read it about 20 years before. Enjoyable read. None of the 4 main characters were particularly attractive so sympathies remained neutral. However, It’s always a little unsettling when older male academic writer describes intimate details. Some unnecessary content. Good insight into the differences between British and American universities and some overlap with Malcolm Bradbury’s stepping west.
