Ok. This is definitely not an actual MC. Or at least, it's written by someone whose never read one and doesn't understand the dynamic at ALL.

I could squint hard and consider giving Caden a pass for repeatedly using a slur, with the understanding that the author was doing a heavy handed job of showing off his toxic masculinity.l, but the only excuse I can accept for Lucas doing the same is that the awkward syntax in this book makes me think English is not the author's first language. Still... I'm definitely not a fan.

It's Caden's night off, he's bored. So he decides to walk down to a diner for a late night meal? Did the author forget that two pages ago, he established that Caden has a young daughter??? #nothowparentingworks

Caden's worries about what Marcus would think if he knew what Caden was feeling for Lucas have me rolling my eyes. The author has gone out of his way to show how protective Marcus is of Ace - and how openly gay Ace *and* accepted by the whole MC Ace is, so this is... Well, just another way the book is really not well written. And yet, like another reviewer said, it's still kind of fun? Lol.
