OK, these characters are very tough to understand. They speak too American and live in such a different culture. It’s confusing. The old friendship is starting to mend, but the strange solution to their challenges does not make sense.

The Keystone cop/robber ending was weird. The dark humor didn’t cover the sad story well. I’m not sure if I liked the characters and I’m not sure it represented a culture correctly. As caste system is not new, It didn’t introduce it to me. Maybe it would’ve been a different receipt if new

I do not like this book. I do not think it treats the women fairly. I think does not give them the depth that they do are due based on their circumstances. The culture challenges I do not think I’m gonna finish. I got the two husband killings.

Geeta is interesting. Poverty is depressing. Farah did kill hubby & celebrated. Amere? Also seems interested in Geeta for her strengths. Solone was not a friend that relationship is challenged by poverty survival
