this has got to be one of my favorite suspense books ever…. though it’s more of a slow, methodical love story with a butt ton of action thrown in. This is definitely the type of book that gets better the more times you read it

I realize Ann could get anymore wonderful and interesting and beautiful but she has. Definitely my new favorite fictional woman. And she’s a good role model too. She loves the Lord, and it’s obvious in the way she talks and speaks. It’s bubbles over from her heart.

Okay this book was hard to get into at first and I was hesitant if it would be any good….
Oh it’s good. I could hardly put it down. I live the fact Paul actually is pursuing Ann. It’s not the “i want to date them but I don’t want a relationship” cliche that EVERY romantic suspense has. He actually went out of his way to peruse her, and now they are dating. ITS SO REFRESHING!!!

I’m on Chapter 2 and dang this is already super interesting. I have to read it a bit slower, just because of the amount of dialogue and information already slamming me, but I love it.
I really like Paul already, he’s this serious dedicated agent but also a kind man who loves his family. I’m intrigued to know more about him. And Ann is all mystery, but she’s also sweet, good natured, and humorous

It’s a very long, slow, detailed book for sure. Definitely NOT for someone who likes a simple action packed adventure right off the bat. This story is so detailed it almost hurts, and the characters have so many complex layers I want to peel back and understand. Ann is amazing, I simply adore her character. She’s probably the most intriguing fmc i’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. And Paul is just a sweetheart. As someone who loves her share of FBI/police terms and talk, the amount of detailed descriptions and information didn’t bother me. It’s very dialogue heavy with a ton of terminology and ornate details that average readers probably won’t like. But if someone likes police terminology and chatter and the complexity of politics and law, this may appeal to them.
I think this book would deter a ton of people simply because of just how thick it is and all the long lengthy police talk. But once you get past that it really is a phenomenal read.
