So I haven’t even returned from my vacation yet, but I popped on to update my currently reading and dnfs. I’ve been thinking this over for some time, and I think I’m going to take a long break from GR. It’s not anything yall did, but I realized how much happier I’ve been since I went on hiatus. I’ve felt less drained, my screen time has gone down about 90% and I’m more creative. (more in comments)

Going on hiatus for a week or so bc I’ll be on vacation!

I won’t be updating my progress on the books Ill be reading (Rebecca, Throne of Glass, and Find Your People) just bc it’s so easy to loose track of time on this app and I want to enjoy as much time in the sun as possible.

Daily ask-me-5-weird-and-wacky-questions-about-my-WIP!

Percy has grown up feeling unloved, rejected, and a blot upon his father’s life. His only comforts were the horses in the stable, the books in the library, and his toddler sister who looks at him as if he were her whole universe. And of course, the lingering memories of his mother.

But a secret spoken into the dead of night shifts his whole world, and he learns what it truly means to love someone.

I like Sodapop, Darry is super intriguing, and Ponyboy is like any 14yr old boy.

So I know I’m only on page 3, but thus far the prose is all explaining and not showing.

Do I need more books I’m “currently reading”? No. Am I adding more? …yes yes I am

Besties favorite book (her outsiders obsession may be greater than f1 which is… well kind of impossible) so I kind of have to read it. My dad thinks I won’t like it, I’m predicting 4 stars.

“Do you see it my darling? The shooting star?” The words were a soft, gentle whisper tickling his ear, and he craned his neck towards the heavens, eyes seeking but not finding.

Writers, how do you plot out your novels?

Do you go chapter by chapter and break it down to the finest details, or you just write one big brain dump paragraph and go off that?

The life of a writer:

*Has the whole trilogy, side series, and movie series mapped out in my head*

*has only written 40% of book one*

Sometimes I look at my characters and wonder if I’m mentally okay.

Sooo I have a trilogy I’m working on. I’m about 40% done with book one and have books two and three planned out. I’ve spend ages world building and developing stories and characters. I love my world and characters sm. It’s the sort of world that can have infinite stories written about it, which is great. (continued in comments)

Day 2 of having yall ask me five weird, wacky, or logical questions about my WIP! First five questions get answered, one question per person pls. It’s a YA medieval fiction story following a young man named Percy and his fight for his family and his homeland.

“…I hope ye ken that a’ll go with ye. To hell’s gate or beyond.” Kaimen’s voice was strained, but firm, and Percy realized just how much he meant it.

I decided it would be fun to have y’all ask 5 questions once a day about my WIP till it’s finished. First five questions get answered! And only one question per person pls so that everyone has a chance!

I was curious, so I put the start of my novel into an AI detector. It’s 100% human no AI or anything, and I spent a lot of time wording it and all that…..

It said all the sentences I worked hard to word vividly and artistically was AI. And then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to humanize my already 100% human story.

Now I’m worried people will think my book is AI generated 😭
