At first the story didn't seem to quite match my tastes. But now I really love the way the author spun the two stories together one from the past and one from the present timeline. When you think about Jenny you intertwine her case with Kelly, sometimes mixing things but at the same time getting more depth at the similarities.
It's easier to sympathize with Jenny - because of the poverty, her mother's sickness, etc

I guess I know who Bobby just might be seeing all the hints to point it out. I get what Mitch Alkins must have felt with what happened when he took out Jenny for a date - and how he is ashamed of what he did, unable to forgive himself.
Thinking of all this, have to say that Bobby was much better and mature about his ways even at that young age and tried his best to save Hannah and he did want to save Jenny too!

I never knew that jurors in America had such great power at deciding the outcome of cases and many even turned away from jury duty - due to loss of daily income, no interest in the case - but many were forced to be a part of it due to the judge's insistence.
And for lawyers gaming the jury would be a very important part of their day to day workings.
It all seems a silly system.

At the beginning I didn't see any buildup and felt as though I was led into a story with no surprises or twists - Rachel doesn't have a backstory, Hannah does but will remain an obscure shadowy figure like a complete unknown.
At one point I thought Hannah might even be a ghost with the things going on esp at the hotel. Things are moving forward albeit slowly. Now my crucial question is how does it tie to the present

We hear Hannah's end of the story through her letter, still flustered why didn't she show up herself and tried to convey her tragedy through only words, words which can sometimes be misconstrued and sometimes be misattributed.
If I was in Rachel's shoes I'd still be paranoid about the author being a male stalker

Starting with Hannah, she surely was involved or witness to her sister's murder - the glasses which chipped her feet bloody do tell that tale.
I understand that Hannah now becoming older maybe 25-ish, would now be more involved about the death of her sister, might even be because of some thing she might have dismissed earlier now doesn't make sense
The curious thing is Rachel being into True crime with family intact
