It’s kind of anachronistic that I like medical history books so much while being so insanely squeamish. I must admit that this chapter on bloodletting is making me incredibly uncomfortable. It’s a good thing I’m lying down!

I am genuinely enjoying this book right now, but the look on my face would suggest otherwise. The thought of drinking blood makes me want to vomit. I feel like that must have spread so much disease!
