a few more pages before she shift started

reading this while eating a mcdonald’s bagel and a black coffee like i’m from new york (this book makes me want to move to new york)

just a couple pages while i was waiting on my mcdonald’s breakfast on my way to work


helen sounds like a a hollywood star starting to fade away—old, arrogant, and desperate to cling to her youth by getting rid of the young women who are keen on replacing her. i have empathy for her, but sympathy is another thing.

i would read more but i have work in the morning and i just finished streaming beyond the valley of the dolls for my all-girl stoner discord stoner so i’m pretty beat


also, anne, you’re not fooling anybody—you do not want that man. shame. if i was her, i’d feel like i hit the powerball.

when ur bestie was the first to fall asleep so you try and make it to the next month (chapter) before you know out too


i don’t know what is in this book, but my body just refuses to put it down! might i say top 10 favorite books of 2026??? it’s too early to tell but i’m falling in love already—god it makes me yearn for new york… and i’ve never been!!

my best friend is coming over to sleepover and i’m supposed to be straightening up my room and getting ready for cookies and brokeback mountain, but it’s so hard to put this down fr-


hard 4.5 at the moment—could go up to 5 or down to for, but i know i wouldn’t give it any less than that.

ugh i can’t wait to tote this book around in the summer with my mini denim skirt, a pack of marlboro cigarettes, and my puma ballet flats

this book is starting off pretty fast-paced, and jazzy—the writing is a little bland, but quick witted; it even got a little chuckle out of me.


i think i’m going to like this book.
