This was half memoir and half doula work. She attempted to show how various parts of her life led her to the work. She made many good observations about life, race, accepting people where they are, etc.. I was less interested in the memoir although it did explain her choices. I would’ve liked more about the Doula part. She gave good examples of what people experience when dying. 3.5
