i bought this book after i got into a car accident but i never finished it—every time i could “hear the music” so to speak, i would start to really enjoy it… and then my shit attention span would take over
but, then i watched cronenberg’s adaptation and fell in love with it as it slowly became one of my favorite erotic films so i thought i’d give the novel a second chance. not while driving, of course.

Yes! It might be my favorite of his, honestly (although The Fly is basically perfect). Crash is so off-putting in this deep, visceral way that somehow draws me into it more. Also, James Spader was on a roll during that time—have you seen Secretary? That's another of my favorites, so good as far as erotic films go
yes i loved secretary; i actually just finished bad behavior, the collection of short stories that has the original short story that inspired the movie in it!! i grew up on james spader since my mom was a big john hughes fan and loved pretty in pink!! when it comes to erotic films, and novels, belle de jour takes the cake personally hehehe
