i promise i’m not into technophilia, this is just my preferred method of ingesting sci-fi

is it bad that i keep seeing james spader and deborah unger when i read this, instead of my own imagined ideal of how james and catherine would look to me??


the writing feels sticky, like rubbing mucus (wink wink) or gasoline between your fingers every time you turn a page. it’s sick, twisted, and demented—and i will be back for more later tonight. i’m taking a break to work one some music stuff.

i bought this book after i got into a car accident but i never finished it—every time i could “hear the music” so to speak, i would start to really enjoy it… and then my shit attention span would take over


but, then i watched cronenberg’s adaptation and fell in love with it as it slowly became one of my favorite erotic films so i thought i’d give the novel a second chance. not while driving, of course.
