Introducing this new arc of characters in this book has like a bit of filler to me, and slows the pace down. Even something as potentially gripping as an amateur trying to fly a helicopter without the proper formal training (hindered even more with bad use, or even lack of, punctuation) feels like a boring shark jump. Probably not 5 stars. Still best in series so far though :)

I’m noticing a lot more clearer horror-trope beats in this instalment. So much so that if I end up doing a booktube vid on horror reads for this year, I would definitely say that this qualifies.
