I want to smack her head . I know 13 years and she doesn’t know any better. I just can’t imagine what Emily is going through. Drinks and cigarettes are her coping mechanism. It’s so sad . It’s what happens I realise that but it’s just sad . And the person she loves most calls her mopey drag .

I’m so torn with this book. I could accept the taboo idea of stepbrother/big brother . But it’s the acceptance of the manipulation and abuse (physical/mental and emotional) Emily endures from James that just gives me pause.
