This book is UNHINGED - Rose is now violently passing gas (The multiple toots were described as as foghorn sound, a mouse screaming and a flappy trumpet) while Fern is crying about being abandoned.

I am not religious and I have not read the Bible, but this seems baffling that Women become unclean because they gave birth to a girl
