Really shocking every time I read/hear how iblis disobeyed a direct order from Allah (SWT) to bow down to Aadam (AS) because of his perceived superiority to Aadam (AS) because he’s made from fire and Aadam (AS) from clay. So scary to read that he knew better than Allah (SWT). May God always keep us humble and allow us to remember we don’t possess full knowledge of everything and apologise if we overstep!

When I read sun, moon and stars, I can’t help but think “sheik me shiraki anni” from game of thrones.

Wow.. the cup bearer forgot to mention him to the kind until years later when the king needed his dream to be interpreted and still Yusuf (AS) didn’t hold a grudge against him but greeted him warmly.

Yusuf (AS), as handsome as he was, resisted temptation even when faced with consequences. I’ve always loved the story of Yusuf (AS). It’s been my favourite Surah.

While their brothers betrayed Yusuf (AS), Yusuf (AS) grew up in a fancy place in Egypt while his brothers toiled on their farm in Palestine. Poor Yaqub (AS). He was patient, missing his son.

The dream of Yusuf (AS) with the sun, moon and 11 stars bowing down to him is so fascinating especially when it comes to fruition much, much later. Dream interpretation in Islam is so fascinating.

Saleh (AS) is really truly nice on another level to have still been calling them ‘his people’ after everything they had done - story of the she-camel. It says, “but the time had come to separate the good from the bad. People who held themselves back from doing things Allah (SWT) had told them not to do were not the same as those who easily did every evil deed they felt like”. May we all be guided.

Surely can’t be a coincidence. I was just thinking even though I rely on one eye and one ear and I have health conditions that are painful, I just thought I’m still grateful that I have one eye and ear. And the next words I read are, “solid and healthy bodies were one of Allah’s blessings to the people of Iram. The people were proud of their muscles, but they were definitely not grateful for them.” - HUD.
