This book is boring, however, the action sequences are interesting and well thought out.

I'm scared to continue with this series, as the next books are about the fantasy creatures that I have purposefully been avoiding in the past.

Basically Vampire, Wolf and Siren. Should be fun then.

Last 10 chapters.

A fact about me, is that at one point, I began to ignore books written about vampires, werewolves & mer-creatures. So, to help myself ignore those books, (in the past years) I have marked the first books of the series as 'read'. I have, however, changed my mind, due to fomo & popular demand. So one of these days, I'll have to check that list of earlier books (oops).

Strongly predicting 3-stars. The beginning was tricky, meaning it started off well, then midway through it came off as a bit mundane. The explanations of love and everything were like other books, I can see some originality in the plot, however, the side characters like Shaye and Hol weren't developed enough for a higher rating. (Was initially gonna rate it 4).

3 per se isn't bad. But it's not winning awards either.

Managed to get another ebook copy on my phone, so back to reading, but slower.

My chargers aren't working, & I'm getting paid in around 6h, then I've got to wait for delivery, so won't be around.

Katria's original feelings for Davien, are not what they seem to be. And I originally DNFed it there, because I thought she caught them too quickly, especially since she had vowed not to fall in love.

So if you're on the fence about the insta-love, as I was, keep reading.

So, there's an impending battle for the last remaining magic of the last heir of the original royal family.

(I'm being purposely vague, as not to spoil any details).

These books in this series can be read as standalones (I just watched a TT vid from the author).
