I wasn’t expecting an enemies to lovers situation in my political intrigue murder mystery spycraft book. But I’m really not mad about it.
I know I should probably not be shipping these two characters together so quickly, but what can I say, I’m a sucker for the trope.

You know… I’m not really sure how this is going to go. It seems like she is going to use and manipulate him. But the flashbacks were so cute. I do quite hope she comes around on the matter. But I guess… spies and enemies to lovers really don’t always mix. Sometimes it’s enemies to emotionally malleable pawns. :(

Book continues to scratch the analyze the text itch. I started highlighting for themes, and now it feels kind of wrong not to do that. But also my brain is tired and sometimes I just want a fun little story.

A very different kind of read than my recent picks. This is less “fun time vibes” more “themes and mysteries make brain go BRRR…”. I am enjoying thus far, but anticipate this will be a slower read. Particularly because apparently I have decided to attempt to annotate this book, and currently have 5 different highlighters on the go, and it’s only chapter 2.
