A governess/nanny asking for a talk with her employer and requesting that the father of the children mind them for the time being. The cheek! But as we know, fathers were perfectly capable of taking care of their children at the time.

This sounds far fetched for the time period. 🙄 She would have got the sack and her bags put on the doorstep.
