Fitz is a deeply flawed character whose constant paranoia is a detriment to his decision making and his relationships -- but I still think everyone else (Chade) is blaming him for far more than is actually his fault. I think one good row where he gets to scream all his woes in Chade's face would do him a lot of good. That said, it's so interesting how despite his flaws his loved ones still love him. It's well told

It's just a theory, but I think I know how they're going to get around killing the dragon. Eliania has tasked Dutiful with bringing her "the head of the dragon" -- but she hasn't asked him to KILL a dragon. What if they just ride the dragon? Fly it back, alive with its head firmly attached. That'd work, right?

Fitz is such a strange mix of raw determination and stubbornness, and the biggest quitter in the world. As soon as any of his relationships goes awry, he just gives up entirely. Idiot. But we knew that.
