Re-listening to this book again and it makes me sad how women were degraded so much during the Vietnam war and technically any war. I hope Frankie gets real professional help for her mental health because she’s dealing with the aftermath of having an undiagnosed condition.

Forgot to update but MY HEARTTTTTT 😭 my girl Frankie is just trying to make it by in a world filled with sexism and classism. It’s crazy that this wasn’t even that long ago and yet we still haven’t come that far. Not to mention our society built by men today still downplays the voices and opinions of women.

It’s crazy how little information we know about women doing their part in wars because society mainly focuses on what men do. Especially as nurses… Lord knows I couldn’t do that career so, now I have EVEN MORE respect towards people in healthcare!

Listening to this makes me realize that I think I finally found a favorite author and that I LOVE historical novels 🤠 my girl Frankie out here serving in Vietnam 🫰🏼 also I found it funny how a surgeon was drinking and smoking weed lol I said okay purr
