Maybe people have DNF'd it because it's the saddest imo. I've read the FTL so the story does all come together nicely. I enjoy it for that reason alone and love it for the plot.

I see a lot of people love angst and pain, but I'm not sure why they dnf this one when it has just that.
I haven't read this story yet, and I'm looking forward to it some day after all the volumes get published so I can binge it.
This is the saddest part of the novel (from what I remember anyway). It's a very high stakes story so if you want something light and breezy then you should give it a miss. You're probably doing the right thing waiting for all the volumes to come out as the cliff hangers are intense.
