You can’t understand that.” but this just parallels Rabbit Angstrom’s whole thing. like I’m assuming that that’s going to be the point of the story (he’s running and running and doesn’t really know what he’s looking for but he knows that it’s not whatever he has currently). idk maybe that was the point of this line. now I feel stupid lmao

with the way he talks about coaching, I can see Tothero being able to make a group of teenage boys want to run through a brick wall for him. this monologue he just did reminds me of the John Wooden quotes that my high school basketball coach used to make my team read before practice. I think John Wooden probably had a less messy personal life than Tothero does though (just an assumption)
