I’ve read it and enjoyed it! I’d go to the sequel but I’ve heard not great things
I started the sequel, but it didn’t start out very promising so I put it back on my shelf…Try the Cycle of Fire trilogy by Janny Wurts. Small digestible fantasy series with awesome prose and unexpected twists.
