Looks like Wulfgar's old job is about to get wrecked by him along with the owner, who used to think of him as a friend.

On to the second act of the second book (finally), and I like how we have a summary of the different forms of government that we've encountered in society so far. I'm reminded to how the Dungeon Master's Guide of DnD had provided helpful guidance on different governments you can use in your campaign.

I'm with the sister on this. Running away is the right solution. It may not be the best, but it's better than possible g(r)ape from her suitor and beatings from her father.

Our new protagonists here now have an increased pressure and tension from their respective lives, but I'm still wondering on how this relates to our beloved heroes, Drizzt, Catti-Brie, and Wulfgar?

If the mother was in the house, she would reprimand her husband for striking their daughter in anger, anger that was not from her but from his fellow peasants making fun of him.

Ugh, this guy! Why are we following this sheltered lordling?! Why can't we follow Drizzt?

That is a plea for help if I ever saw one. Some other planar creature, malevolent most likely, will hear it.

What is with this sudden YA writing of a romantic scene between a dark-haired, quiet boy and the farmer's daughter? The tone shift of this is more humorous than anything. Especially when the last chapter was mostly composed of a bar fight.

I'm not really sure what the point of this side-story is with the sheltered, young nobleman falling in love with a peasant girl and her not realizing.
