also if any of you wanna quote shakespeare when no ones noticing, next time someone says something stupid just hit them with your gayest “tut, that’s a foolish observation.”

LITERALLY PRINCE EDWARD IS A YEAR YOUNGER THAN RICHARD AND YET HES CALLED A YOUNG LAD AND A CHILD (he’s 18 in 1471) WHILE RICHARD IS TREATED LIKE A MAN OF 30+ (he’s 19 in 1471)… like okay, bill………..

like it’s quite incredible in a way that GEORGE, who ACTUALLY betrays edward more than once bc he’s stupid and jealous, is portrayed as less evil by miles than richard, who a) i must again remind is actually a child through most of what happens during the wars and only 19 in 1471 and b) even in the play stays by his fathers and brothers sides loyally and unwaveringly and somehow he’s still portrayed as scheming

i know the changing kings back and forth every couple years must have been exhausting for the common folk but at the same time i wonder if they weren’t following the war between henry and edward with mild interest considering it WAS all very scandalous and crazy

i always wondered if the way shakespeare portrays lancaster and henry vii has to do with his living under elizabeth i… being the granddaughter of henry vii, it would make sense for william to want to show them in a favourable light… cause what is this passage about him from henry vi, a bit thick even for williams standards… idk, interesting in general, politically and socially and culturally

i sound crazy, i admit, defending a historical figure made character in theeeee shakespeares work but it must be said also that i AM kind of crazy about richard iii. i do not play about that guy. to clear things up in ways we will all understand, thats my poor little meow meow. if you catch my drift.

also have said it before and understand the impulse for continuity’s sake since he clearly wants richard to be a villain in richard iii but william is sooooooo asshole of all time for making out richard to be an evil schemer for the crown plotting his brothers murders when in reality a) richard was twelve years old when edward married elizabeth and b) richard is historically reported to have been most loyal

i wonder… considering we know grrm was influenced by the wars for asoiaf… margaret keeps speaking to richard in a way that reminds me so much how tyrion is spoken to in the books…
