Existential crises

You take the good with the bad

That most people don’t do what we tell them to. They do what we let them get away with.

Community is the fat that we work toward the same goal, that we accept our respective roles in order to reach it. Values is the fact that we trust each other. That we love each other. Culture is as much about what we encourage as what we actually permit.

To do something stupid, all you need is the opportunity. To do something good, all you need is a reason.

No one ever said life was going to be easy. Being a parent makes you feel like a blanket that’s always too small. No matter how hard you try to cover everyone, there’s always someone who’s freezing.

It was so beautiful and ominous at the same time

A simple truth, repeated as often as it is ignored, is that if you tell a child it can do absolutely anything, or that it can’t do anything at all, you will in all likelihood be proven right.

We become what we are told we are.
