This book is way better than As I Lay Dying. Way more explosions and sword fights.

Depending on my mood for the day, I either really like the religious/warp chapters or they bore me. I liked this one though. Nice to see a little more about what motivated chaos to fight the emperor other than "they're the bad guys".

I REALLY liked the way he described the landings on Luna. So vivid. Wraight might be one of the top 3 40k writers OAT.

Really like the description of the Golden Throne. Can't tell if the "black orb" is meant to be the Emperor or not but I'm like 95% sure it is.

I really like how this chapter describes the destruction of the rest of the Sol System.

Read chapter nineteen. I wish we could see more of Luna. I'm surprised it hasn't been given much spotlight in the novels given how important it is. I assume a bunch of background info is thrown into some random Horus Heresy Book.

Read Chapter XVIII. Liked this political chapter. I kinda would have liked for a little more dialogue though. I wonder if we'll actually see the reconquest of Luna and Mars in this book or not. There's still another 250 pages but the pacing is so slow I think it might have to wait until book two.
