I don’t understand why this girls’ parents allow her to be so unprepared in regards to what’s actually going on behind the scenes when her life literally depends on it, imo it’s withheld for no reason other than revealing it when the author deems it more shocking.

This is my fault but I am just not interested in trials in books. I’ve had enough and most of the time they’re so generic and not very exciting. And more often than I’d like they make no sense within the context of the world.
