I've been putting this off for so long because it takes me ages to get through academic books even when I like them, but to my surprise, this isn't academic at all—we're talking an eighth-grade reading level. Which is good for accessibility, but TBH I was hoping for more background: for example, explain how the government functions, that the Shah can just revoke the PM's status.

I know I read this when it was published, but damn if I can remember even one word of it. I may have to pick it up again.
