About 1/3 through Life and times of Jarzyl Mintaka and having a great time.
Someone (an evil ear profanator) said it lacked stakes, but I don't know what you need more : not getting caught at mischief and all other fledgeling challenges ?
I'm getting addicted to this cast, Jarz is endearing as hell but the others are good too. Feel like I'll miss them, like I did with Sythyry when I finished it.

Well I don't feel the world building wasted at all. Those are wholesome protagonists, and they need a solid world to fully come to life as they do.This aside, you implicitly confessed the ear business.
