Idk man, I think I would have liked to read about our MC on “beat patrol” as it were. I appreciate that the MC is “older” (if 26 is old) and how this book is getting “to the point”, but I miss a good old fashioned fantasy where we follow the MC from childhood to fulfilling their destiny.

If someone had “deep olive skin”, there is no way they can clench their fist in such a way that their knuckles turn “bone white”. I say this as someone who has light olive skin. My hand Will deffo blanch, but it will not turn white.
