Idk man, I think I would have liked to read about our MC on “beat patrol” as it were. I appreciate that the MC is “older” (if 26 is old) and how this book is getting “to the point”, but I miss a good old fashioned fantasy where we follow the MC from childhood to fulfilling their destiny.
