i am going to give this a reread sometime and only read yale's chapters to see if the split timeline is my main issue with this. but for my first read i feel obligated to experience the whole thing and not skip anything. even though i still don't care about fiona in the present, girl stop trying to wedge yourself back into your daughter's life. jesus christ.

oh my god i do not Care about the subplot of fiona finding her daughter. while i do like the portrayal of her residual trauma, i still feel like her perspective is unnecessary and takes away from the story.

there is indeed Something here. for sure. i just,,,absolutely despise the pacing and constant alternating of disconnected timelines. i would totally skip fiona's chapters but that feels like cheating and a bit disrespectful.

lovelovelove how i have to force myself through fiona's chapters and then yale's are like a reward. definitely not a fan of the way the timeline switches after every single chapter. it's like watching a show only for it to jarringly turn to a different one with no good transition.

not the strongest start tbh. i'm feeling iffy about the dual timelines. but i'll stick with it for now
