I have no idea if I actually like the romance or not. I think I find it ok enough but I also have some issues and I'm not crazy about with it, but at the same time the book is so addicting (in a different way and a bit less than the previous one maybe but still addicting) and I can't stop reading. It'll be tough to decide between 3 and 4 stars

The romance and the mc are not as great as the previous book (the mc is ok, but I don't always like him, and their relationship is not as captivating and beautiful [Kit was a gem with Lauren]), but the book and the series are for sure addicting and enjoyable, I don't think I'll actually read all the series back to back but for now I can't stop reading

I feel like Eve and Aidan are a bit more stereotypical characters and not particularly captivating to me, still, they are alright and the story seems really enjoyable, I expect to like the book even if it won't be at the level of the previous one

I loved this! I think Mary Balogh’s romance usually has a clinical or an aseptic feel to it 🫠 I got used to it. Sometimes it’s nice, other times it’s awful 😭

Sometimes it’s nice, other times it’s awful 😭"I’m glad you loved it 💜 I think the prequel was much more to my taste, but despite some element not winning me over in this I’m for sure enjoying the reading a lot and that’s because of Mary Balogh’s talent. I’m loving the style of her stories.
