To expand on this, I love how much these labels tell us about the world and each character's relationship with the main character and magic in general. For example, the asshole detective calls Pablo "Practicioner" as an insult to his PhD credentials. The new detective follows that lead, but Pablo doesn't correct her because it's the "neutral" designation (and she doesn't mean it negatively). To other wizards, Pablo is "Archmagus". His father calls him "brujo", disappointed but respectful.

It's delicious.
