Uh oh…now we’re getting into neck beard territory…

Why does Urban Fantasy have to be so horny?!

A very shocking second murder, but the prose is so fun and the characters so distinct I’m still along for the ride!

And now we’re in the Tempest? What is this book…

This has gone completely off the rails. I'm still on the train for now, but the motivations of the various characters have diverted so far from what they were introduced as I'm not even sure I'm reading the same book.

Not usually my cup of tea but I’m currently finding it just as absorbing as the movie.

This just turned into a serial killer, murder mystery and I am not about that

Really struggling with the worldbuilding of this one. It's cyberpunk, and they make deals with demons, but that's never portrayed as a normal thing. Yet none of the characters ever reckon with that fact.

Big "this is my life now" energy and I'm not buying it.

Also getting really frustrated by the dialogue-explanation ping pong going on here.

“I couldn’t morphiphy.”
Main character explains what the concept of morphiphying is and its deep roots in their convo partner’s culture.
“How did you cope?”
“I went on spruminga!”
Main character explains the concept of spruminga for two paragraphs.

It’s exhausting.

“Changelings not only adopted the appearance of the creature they changed into, but they also gained some of their natural abilities and powers…”

“On the flip side, they also adopted their weaknesses. A Changeling Minotaur would have the low intelligence associated with their race…”

Really hoped we were going to avoid this fantasy trope…
