Have 2 days left to finish this, which I plan to, but having trouble finding a stretch of time to just read (even though I’m UNEMPLOYED).. pacing is off since the first book bc now it’s first person Carrie w third person Max (no Cyrus like the last book) and no separation between the two (prob rebook formatting) but harder to follow along (just a bit)…

Strong 4 stars.. the first is still my fave (& why this isn’t 5) and have the next book ready. Just enjoying the mess of this lol, the writing gels w my brain but the dialogue through the blood tie(s) is kinda hard to follow. Just hoping for a more solid foundation for the romance to finish it off.

Holy plot twists.. was not expecting a were-vamp baby, Anne’s betrayal, or ZIGGY of all people to still live?! Needless to say the pacing of the second half was faster but the entire book was pretty good. Light on spice but that’s bc the love triangle is MESSY. Aka more realistic I guess (how would I know?) but seriously thought she’d settled on Cyrus. Then he died.

The last book I didn’t find as exciting / tight a plot as the first but the Oracle’s escape & possession still has my attention. As do the character interactions (clever dialogue, or at least it tickles ME). Just got to the point where Carrie sires a nearly-dead Cyrus and now the whole love triangle is thrown into the mix (honestly can’t pin Nathan down, def not insta-love.. just insta-lust)
