The writing has become more structured and relevant to the sessions, and I suspect this is due to the larger wealth of material that Dorfman had (compared to anecdotal evidence for their influences and formation). Still, the little mini-biographical sessions for some players remain an irritant.

A little gross in idolatry, and sometimes the writing comes off as fan fiction (which, I suppose, it inevitably must - since so much is approximated recounting). Still, the enthusiasm, and the incredible amount of research, makes for an engaging read.

I added this edition, since I'm pretty sure the first edition went out of print very quickly, and because this is the edition being sold right now on Kool Kat Musik. Unfortunately, I don't exactly know when this book was released, as the print only says "Second Edition, Fall 2016," and aside from that little bit everything seems to be the exact same. Oh well.
