maybe i'm in a reading slump but I can't help but being annoyed at the naivety of some of the characters, the sheriff and the mc first of all. he's so amateurish, he makes me laugh. unless he's doing this on purpose? bc only a dumbass would accuse the mc solely bc of what she'd just found out
