aaaand i'm annoyed again.

things are picking up, thankfully. still really only care about esheme, lol, but danso is growing on me.

I'm going to give this one more solid try but I'm just not clicking with it the way i want to. it's good, but it's very slow paced, and i don't find myself like, dying to know what happens next. it's highly likely it's a "right book wrong time" thing, i can't stress enough that it's really well written. we'll see if it picks up now I'm past the halfway mark.

am i taking this slow or is it slow paced? hard to say. most invested in esheme right now even though i can guess she's the villain of the tale, lol.

this is popping off and entering "can't put it down" territory, SO annoyed i have to pay attention to work today!

this feels a bit like the opening of strange the dreamer by laini taylor-- hapless nerd just wants to learn everything, boring shit like racism and bullying get in the way. really liking the style so far, and the worldbuilding.
