An unsettling 7 pages from the perspective of a school shooter. While it is effective in making the reader uncomfortable and angry, and doesn't go beyond those emotions and doesn't really accomplish any true depth

A really great campfire scary story digging into our internal superstitions and expanding upon fears of bad things happening that we attached to disconnected items or ideas.

Short child's fiver dream about tiger in school. Could be expanded upon for something interesting

The Mist 4/5 Stars

This may well be higher if I wasn't VERY familiar with the movie, but because I was, and the movie was so faithful in its adaptation, everything felt too familiar.

That being said, it has real feeling of claustrophobia and tribalism that haunts the characters. The ending being very different from the film also helped it to be a great experience rather than a rehash of what I'd seen before.

I read the foreword by the author... and I honestly couldn't tell you why I did this. No real opinions yet
